Corporate Space Healing

We were running a thriving and rapidly growing ISP (internet service provider) start-up and were growing so fast that we were running out of space for our support teams. We leased 2 floors of a building down the road from our existing office in Putney that was owned by the council and had been used by social services for many years beforehand.

The 2 floors were filled with partition walls and cubicles and were very dark and dingy. We hired builders, ripped everything out and ended up with a couple of small offices, meeting rooms and 2 large open plan areas for support to expand into. We pendulum dowsed to choose the colours of the walls and the carpet tiles and put a huge amount of time and energy into creating the best possible working environment for our teams.

All was great until the very first day that we moved the teams into their new office space, which was by far the most modern and properly designed space in the company. Within the first week all measurable stats dropped, from time-keeping to average speed of answer, satisfaction scores and even un-measurables like the office-vibe dropped off with people being grouchy and unsettled. I was stumped until I stayed behind one evening when most people had gone in order to read the energetic imprints of the new offices. Imagine if you will the kind of energies, emotions and frustrations that would have been generated in such a working environment!

Armed with the info I gathered together a small team of support staff who were sworn to secrecy (because what we were doing was a ‘bit out there’ in the corporate world and also because we wanted to be able to monitor the outcome of the process.

One Friday evening after work we cleared the old stuck energies out of the 2 floors and replaced them with thoughts and intentions of what kind of environment we wanted to work in, how we wanted to feel when we came into work and how we all wanted to be treated.

Monday morning came around quickly and immediately all of our stats climbed back up to their previous high levels. Timekeeping improved and the staff were generally happier. We ended up having issues with our meeting rooms getting booked out by staff from our other building. When questioned why they were not using their own meeting rooms we were told “it just feels better here”!
That was almost 30 years ago and was the first time I had cleared energies on that scale.
